Roman art didn’t develop in a vacuum, but was influenced by other people: Greeks, Etruscans, Italians. But what is it about Roman art that is distinctly Roman? We’ll take a look at examples of wall painting, sculpture, portraiture, relief work, and more as we ponder the question “what is truly Roman”?
