ROMA SUL MARE - ROME BY SEA
SPACES AVAILABLE

March 7 through 13, 2027

Join Ancient Rome Live and archaeologist Darius Arya to discover how water shaped Rome’s maritime empire on this immersive six-day tour. Following ancient supply and ritual routes, you will journey from the Tiber’s city quays to the vital imperial ports of Ostia and Portus. The itinerary ventures north in Lazio to Etruscan sanctuaries and then south to Nero’s palace at Anzio, historic WWII landing beaches, and a remarkably well preserved Roman tomb. The journey concludes at the once-sacred crater lake of Nemi, where history transitions into myth.

Throughout, expert-led archaeology meets the best of living Italy, offering rare site access alongside the incredible food and landscapes of Lazio and Rome’s historic coastline, waterways and lakes.
