The program offers an exclusive look at the urban development of Rome through the ages, with a particular focus on ancient Rome: building materials, topography, projects of urban renewal and expansion over 1000 years.  We will explore Rome’s “modern” architecture – from the Middle Ages through the 21st century – through exclusive on site visits and expert talks.  Mornings are dedicated to lectures.  Afternoons are for exploration and sketching/ painting/ photography, directed in a series of sketch outings led by NCSU faculty.
