Welcome to the ARL 2024 Fundraising Challenge – our annual “Double the Donation” campaign! This year, your gift has twice the power to bring Ancient Rome to life, thanks to a matching grant challenge of $45,000, led by five champion donors. Among them are renowned scholars Fred Kleiner (Boston University) and the late Diana Kleiner (Yale University), and together our champions have generously increased this year’s grant by $10,000 to maximize the impact of your contributions.
Our mission? To preserve and promote Rome’s rich cultural legacy through engaging, expert-led video content. And with your support, we’re achieving remarkable milestones. In the past year, we produced 25 YouTube videos, skyrocketing our subscribers by 160% to reach 70,000. We brought the history of Rome to life in unforgettable ways – from our ongoing excavation in Foligno and crafting a special feature video for the Anzio Archaeological Museum, to hosting 30 free seminars, 8 expert-led masterclasses, three immersive travel courses across Rome and the Vesuvian cities, and leading a unique architecture program with NCSU graduate students. Plus, we’ve earned incredible awards, including a $25,000 CAAS Masciantonio Fund grant and $12,000 from A&E Networks.
But we’re not stopping here. With your help, we can keep producing high-quality, free content directly from Rome and sites across the Mediterranean. Join us in making 2025 our most impactful year yet – together, we’re making history for everyone.
