This small bath complex is actually part of a structure that has been the subject of recent archaeological investigation by La Sapienza, Professor Clementina Panella. A huge cache of statuary was found dating to the Severan, hence the attribution, but actually the site is viewed now as more of a collegium or hospitium, tied to the praetorian guard.
